We are Marshal: Movie review
By David Nesteby onI am so thrilled to review this movie. 'We are Marshal' is a strong movie about the 1971 airplane crash of the Huntington West Virginia Universities football team. Only four seniors that did not make the plane lived. The movie is Matthew McConaughey's best to date acting effort. This movie showed the hardships of a Universities struggle to bring back a team without seniors on the roster. The Movie is a true tear jerker for any football loving father who has children in the sport.I cried like a baby after watching this emotional movie of courage, faith and honor. Matthew did a great job as the man who filled the new coaching position.The movie is a heart-to-heart movie that is designed to bring people closer through the understanding of tragic loss and the will to go on.I love this movie and already since yesterday, I have seen it twice. Make sure you have tissues for this one. A 100% excellent job by this movies director. I love it. A fantastic Job!
I really like Matthew McConaughey and have this movie on my Blockbuster list as one that I am waiting to see. I would have watched it sooner but, as you said, this movie is a tear jerker and I have been steering away sad movies lately.

We enjoyed this movie too. As an FSU alumni and fan, it was interesting to see someone play Bobby Bowden in a scene.

I used to live just outside of Huntington. It was the football team from Marshall University that crashed. Not WVU. I knew a lot of people that were personally effected by this crash and it really devastated the area. Everyone was thrilled when the movie crew came into town to film the movie (although not much of it was filmed in WV). It was pretty nice though that the premiere of the movie was in Huntington. I watched it on tv =-( But I could at least feel the vibes from Matthew McConaughey with him being within minutes of me!! Shewww!!! Anyways, I could go on and on about this movie. It is really a sad one and coming from someone of that area...I am really happy to see that it has touched so many people.
This movie is in my Blockbuster queue. I would have seen it earlier but I have not been up to the sadness of it all... It is just such a tragedy.
I love this movie and I have watched it several times. I always cry even after watching it so many times. It is a very inspirational and moving story not to mention the two Matthews were great in this movie.
I love football movies, and this one sounds like a great one!
