I've been a Weimaraner lover since I was a child. My first Weimaraner was a loving male I forced my family to adopt from the animal shelter I volunteered at. He was an older Weimie that had been abandoned and abused. I bought Weimaranersby Anna Katherine Nicholas to educate myself about the breed, gain some dog training knowledge, and see what Weimaraners are all about.

Weimaraners is an easy read. The book takes you from the history of the breed to learning the laws of breeding, selling, owning, and other guidelines for Weimaraners. Throughout the book you will be entertained by a myriad of engaging photographs.

After my first Weimie passed, and I was living on my own, I purchased a female Weimaraner from a breeder. This dog had champion bloodlines and was the light of my life. I took her everywhere with me, even to work on occasion. Using Weimaraners guidelines, I was able to train my girl to the point she was just like a human in everyone's eyes.

She passed in 2005. She could never be replaced in my eyes. I thank Weimaraners for giving me the knowledge to have such a wonderful companion. I had used tips outlined in the book to choose the right Weimie for me and to match my personality.

Recently, I came across a "free to good home" ad for an older Weimaraner. Thinking I was a seasoned Weimie owner, I answered the ad and adopted the Weimaraner you see pictured in my attached images. This girl has been a chore. I'm using the book to help me get her to cohabitate better with our family. It's been a little slow going, but I have faith.

I recommend any interested parties to purchase a breed specific book prior to getting a special breed like this. Weimaraners are big dogs, they're people dogs, and they like to think they're lap dogs.
