Westinghouse Stick Up Bulb By Ezriela on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My husband and I happen to live in an apartment that has minimal lighting. One reason, quite truthfully, is due to our desire to be "frugal", in order to cut down on the sometimes mountainous power bills bestowed upon us by our local electric company. We are always seeking products to save us money and, at the same time, provide us with a little assistance in gettig increaed lighting, particularly since my husband is disabled and doesn't want to risk falling, which is a possibility if he can't see well at night. When we saw the television commercial for the Stick-Up Bulb and then saw it adverrtised in a catalog, we decided to purchase it. It seemed very easy to set up, since all that's required is for you to stick up the base in the area of your choice (i.e. closet, basement, hallway) without any wiring being needed, slide the bulb in and flick it on and off with the 6" chain. We did have to buy our own AA batteries, since they don't come with the unit. To make a long story short, we were somewhat disappointed that the lighting was weaker than we thought it would be and, when we tugged on the chain, the base and bulb kept coming down. This product may do in a pinch, but the $9.98 price is much higher than it ought to be, considering that the Stick-Up Bulb is not all that great. You'd do better buying a few nightlights from Wal-Mart. They cost a lot less and work far better.
