Once upon a time, I read an article in a beauty magazine about fantastic drugstore cosmetics.One of the items touted in that article was Wet 'n' Wild's Creme Lip Liner in Brandy Wine (#666).Despite the ominous numerical association, I lived up to my responsibility as a beauty product junkie....I picked one up during my next trip to the drugstore.That was well over a decade ago, but if you were to peek into my cosmetics drawer today, you would find at least one Brandy Wine Lip Liner.Yes, cosmetic products come and go, "in" colors change with the seasons, but my Brandy Wine Lip Liner is a staple in my cosmetic repertoire.
The color gurus at Wet 'n' Wild created this color to be the perfect liner for all skin tones, to be worn with any shade of lip color.Incredibly, they got it right!If I had to describe this color to you, I would simply say, "lips".Yours, mine, doesn't matter.This lip liner transforms itself to the perfect color for the person who wears it, so it's a great choice for a giant range of skintones.
I use this lip liner whenever I wear lipstick to prevent my lip color from fading, smearing and bleeding.But my favorite way to wear this lip color is to first apply a touch of lip balm (Burt's Bees, Blistex, whatever), and then line my lips with Brandy Wine.This gives my lips definition and a touch of color without making me look overly made up.Its creamy consistency means that I can apply it lightly for daytime or a bit darker for a more dramatic look.
The only issue I have with this product is that the tip of the pencil wears down fairly quickly, so I sharpen it often.But for this price, I can certainly overlook that tiny inconvenience.
As lip liners go, this one manages to be all things to all people!Not bad for under a buck!
