Her whole life, Daphne Renolds has only wanted one thing: to meet her father. The problem is, her father lives half a world away and doesn't even know he has a child! Finally, when she is 17, Daphne determins to take matters into her own hands by going to London England to find him. There, she quickly and comically learns the differences between American and British culture, experiences what it is like to have a father, falls in love, and learns some important lessons about balancing how much you let other people shape you, and how important it is to be yourself.

What a Girl Wants stars the talented and hilarious Amanda Bynes in one of her first movie performances. Her genuine goodness will have you charmed in no time.

The extra features on this dvd aren't that spectacular, but I have to say that I enjoyed the commentary. Amanda gives a great inside look of the making of the movie, and even gives away some secrets (like which scenes are actually her, and which were a body double.)

This movie is great for teen girls, and even a mother-daughter night. It's a playful, lighthearted teen comedy that brings a ton of laughs, but still has you sniffling during the last scene.
