Author Connie Fletcher explores the mind of cops in this national bestseller. She interviews cops who have seen it all from prostition to drug busts to homicide victims. Now unfortunetly this book only tells about certain crimes which include drugs, homicide, rapes and prostition. there isn't much else i guess but i wish they would have talked about other crimes and just weird stories.

The book was written in 1990 so maybe there wasn't really weird stuff going on? haha im not really sure cause i was born in 1990.

But this book did teach me a lot about cops and how they operate on a personal basis. for instance did you know most women kill themselves on mother's day than on any other day? also how serial killer always look for a specific type of victim? and what i thought was strangest was how your most likely to be killed in your home than anywhere else in the world no matter what time.

Homicide detetctives and cops in general have a sick twisted humor they say. they say "if you don't laugh, you cry" and i never thought of it that way but i guess its true. they constantly laugh and make jokes about horrible murders and terrible acts of violence, while most may think that is un professional they simply say its the only way they can sleep at night.

The entire book is just a collection of thoughts and stories from cops all over america and while its fun and entertaining to read their is no point to start at the begininng, just jump in where a story catches your eye and have fun. this book is 18 years out of date but things you learn in it still apply today.

Definently worth the 6 dollars! interesting to read!
