What To Do With Floral Designs? By JPnMO on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
While vacationing in Kennebunkport, Maine, I found a wonderful florist in the downtown area. I wandered in and was surrounded by beautiful arrangements of both live and silk flowers and plants.
The store was jam packed with various items of all types and there was a second floor with more designs and a few on clearance. It seemed that I wanted everything. The best part was that the prices were quite reasonable.
After about an hour in the store, I picked out two of these arrangements. I had no idea where I was going to put them, but something about them felt right to me. I'm not much of a decorator and have no real sense of decorating style, so this was a leap of faith for me.
The colors in these were beautiful. The flowers, which appeared to be carnations and roses were dusty rose and cream colored, along with a bit of white and green accents. There is a soft cream color ribbon on each one. Something about them jumped out to me each time I looked at them in the shop.
After returning home, I tried them in the dining room, which was the most likely place to use them. They matched the rug, but I never was certain that they looked right in there. I left them anyway until I could figure out what to do with them.
Now, I live in a totally different house in a different state. The floral arrangements are even harder to place in this house, yet I keep the two of them and hope that they'll eventually find the right place.
When I find something I love, I usually feel that way for years and that's how it is with these.
