What To Expect The First Year By eclecticbird on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This is a must have book for any first time parent and I think there is something in here for any parent. The book is very in depth and covers any question you could possibly have, even things that might seem off the wall or random to you can probably be found in this book.

The first four chapters are basic information including getting ready for the baby, how to pick a pediatrician, breast feeding information and more. The next chapters are divided into the age of the baby, for example first and second month and so on.

I especially like the 'what your baby should be doing' at the beginning of the chapters. I found it a helpful guideline of what behaviors to expect from my baby and what should be going on developmentally. While I have been a teacher for many years I had no previous experience with babies and had no idea when a baby would start sitting, walking, talking, ect. This book at least gives me an idea of when to expect certain firsts!
