What To Expect When You're Expecting By Autumnleaves By autumnleaves on - Updated Sep 26, 2011
As most any new mother I was very excited and very nervous when I found out I was pregnant. Since I was already at risk for a miscarraige it made me that more nervous. Some ladies suggested finding reading material and to knowledge myself about the pregnancy in general. I found this book at Wal-Mart, flipped through it and decided this would be my first book to read.
The authors are Heidi Murkoff, Arlene Eisenberg, and Sandee Hathaway. It is a fairly thick book but very knowledgable. The book starts with the very beginning of pregnancy. Listing signs and symptoms to help you determine if you are indeed pregnant. It breaks the chapters down by each month of pregnancy also listed how many weeks pregnant you are. This is important to know because the doctors look at the pregnancy in terms of weeks rather than months. Each chapter explains what you can expect at the doctors visit for that month as well as what you maybe experiencing in the pregnancy. More than likely if you are experiencing something common or not so common you can find it in this book. If it is way out of the ordinary you may not find any information on the particular issue in this book. After the book goes through the pregnancy months there are additional interesting chapters. One is on labor and delivery. Another is on the first six weeks postpartum. There is actually a chapter for the fathers to read. There is also a chapter on some of the complications and problems that can occur during pregnancy. At the end of the book there is a page for each month so you can take notes. I would recommend this book to any expecting mother.
Workman What to expect when your expecting book Purchased at: Wal-Mart Price: $12.99

I just bought my daughter a book similar to this one. It's very helpful for the mommies to be. I like that they put in a section for the new daddies too !
This is such a great and informative book!
I read these when I was pregnant with my daughter and then again 7 years later when I was expecting my son. They are such a great resources for information for youe first baby and all others after that too.
Sounds like a good resource to have on hand when one is expecting.
This would have a been a good book for my daughter when she was carrying my grandson. I will give this though to another young girl I know who is going to have a baby. This would make a great shower gift.
Sounds like a very helpful and informative book!
While I didn't read this book cover to cover, it was great to have on hand. I especially loved reading what my baby was doing each month. The rest of the book is a great reference and I still refer to it now during my 2nd pregnancy.
This has got to be one of the most popular books for pregnancy. I have seen it at tons of garage sales!
Sounds like a great book if you are pregnant, thanks for sharing!
