What Was Dell Thinking By jaysport14 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I have a dell inspiron 600 laptop and this is the only charger that is made by dell and compatible. I have gone through 3 of these chargers in the past 2 years. The length is decent at 3 feet long, but the rest is terrible. The conection into the laptop always comes out since it is not a good fit. The rubber aroun the wire is so cheap that after a couple weeks you can see the silver wire that the electricity runs through. After a month in a half with the second one it started to spark when ever plugged in.

I was shocked after the first one went bad thinking it must have been a fluke since dell normaly makes quality products, i was wrong. The second one had its rubber coating wore down in and the connection wouldn't fit into the hole after a mere month in a half. the third one was the best but has problems. it will charge when you put one hand on the back showing hte charger into it's port but will not charge only allow you to use the computer with out it immediatly shutting down for having no battery.

I highly recomend NEVER using this charger.

Dell has really fallen down in their quality level. I haven't been pleased with them in years.

What a surprising disappointment from Dell.

I have always been on the side watching the horror stories of people that have owned dells, so this is no surprise to me. Great article
