By CarbonatedSoda onThis detector is the Cadillac of all detectors in my opinion! It runs on a simple 9 volt battery as most do, but this one has more features I never knew even existed! It has a remote controller that allows you to silence the alarm for when your family has a fire drill. I am seriously a strong advocate of smoke detectors and alarms. I have personally known several people who have perished due to smoke inhalation in house fires and it is one of the most horrific ways to pass in my opinion.
It also runs a self test dailey, I really like that feature. We are all reminded to change our batteries twice a year when the time changes, and that is a good thing but when a detector runs its own test dailey then you can really feel secure in your home.
It is a little expensive I think, but can you really put a price on your family's safety? In this case you really get what you pay for. I give this one a 10 rating!
