Where's The Sweat Fighting Ingredient? By maryelser on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I have been using deodorants for many years now and I have come to expect a couple of things from whichever brand I use.
One: it must keep the odor away! I'm not an overly sweaty or stinky person but like everyone else, I do sweat. Yes, for those who didn't know, women do sweat and on occasion, they stink becasue of it.
Two: it must keep my underarms dry! There is nothing worse or more irritating than damp underarms. And, if your underarms are wet then you take a chance on it showing through your clothes. It's bad enough when a man, whether he worked hard or not, sweats so much that there are wet patches under his shirt sleeves but it's just gross on a woman.
I haave found that Suave deorodant usually does the job for me. I say usually because up until now, it did do the job. I buy the invisible solid because I don't like white streaks on the inside of my shirts. This particular stick of deodorant claims 24 hour protection and more sweat fighting ingredient than Secret. It is also an anit-perspirant/deodorant. I have found my underarms damp at least four times in a week, I have never experienced this in Suave deodorants before and in fact, have used the 24 hour protection kind many times. I don't know if this was a bad batch or what but one thing I do know is that I will not buy any more of this particular Suave deodorant again.
Suave Stick Purchased at: Dollar General Store Price: $2.00

I hear ya girlfriend when you say it's not attractive when women have wet patches under their arms!!
I know nobody likes white streaks but usually solids work the best I have found and from what I have read.
Too bad this one didn't work for you, I know with me personally, I have to switch brands every few months, it's like I grow immune to any one brand after a while. Especially after having kids, your body chemistry changes so much! Maybe this will work for you again sometime down the road?
I have to say that I agree that the invisible types of antiperspirant/deodorant just do not seem to live up to the task.
Maybe they've changed something in the formula? Stuff like that happens, unfortunately.
I also used Suave for years and had the exact same experience when they went to the clear formula. It just doesn't last. It's not you: it's the formula.
