Reviewing: Whirlpool Duet Sport Electric Dryer
Purchased at: Lowes     Price: $697.00 USD

We recently replaced our washer/dryer with the Whirlpool Duet Sport washer and dryer. While the washer has given us a few problems, we have absolutely loved the dryer.

It is very fast. The cycle time for most cycles is 35 minutes. The dryer also has a sensor so if clothes are not dry, it will add an additional 15 minutes.I've only had that happen once, with a very large load of jeans. This is a huge improvement over my old dryer, which would take 3 85 minute cycles to completely dry a similar load, as well as scorch at least one item.I believe it works so quickly because the washer spins most of the water out of the clothing.

The only problem is it's set low to the ground. You can buy stands to put these on, but those are $200 apiece, which we decided was not worth it.I've taken advantage of its lowness by having my children transfer the clothes from the washer to the dryer.

Overall, we've loved this dryer. Now if we could just work out the issues with the washer...

There you go-you solved the problem of the lowness by having your kids unload the washer for you! What a wonderful feature of your dryer in that it senses when things aren't dry & it will add minutes to the cycle-I love that!!

Sounds like a great dryer with great features. We need a new dryer. I will certainly keep this model in mind. Thanks for sharing the information.

I like that you are teaching your kids cleaning responsibilites early on! :o) Even if it is kind of by default. This sounds like a great washer/dryer set despite being a little low to the ground. I love the idea that the dryer can "sense" when it needs more time and it automatically adds it on. How cool is that?!

I love the fact that it automatically senses that the clothes are still wet. That's awesome. If your husband is handy, have him make a stand to put the dryer on. That's what my husband did, it's made out of wood and it works great!
