Whisper Wear Single Pump By kateri27 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I bought the Whisper Wear Single Pump to go back to work. I was carrying a Medela Pump in Style to work and it just seemed so huge and such a production. The Whisper Wear claims to be the only hands-free pump.

It is a novel concept. A small system that you place under your nursing bra and it pumps away. It was not for me. It is very quiet, as promised. But I could not get it to properly latch as needed to express breastmilk. I spent more time fumbling around with the breastpump then actually getting any milk out.

I also had a problem with the system. The breastcup randomly popped out on several occasions. The valves never stayed put and several times when I went to wash the unit the valves (which are small little plastic pieces) would fall down the drain. The system only comes with two valves and as far as I know this product is only avaiable on line so I couldn't go out and purchase new valves.

I ended up giving up, putting the product back in it's cute little carrying case and lugging around my pump in style. I love the idea, but the product, not so great.
