Whispers and Lies by Joy Fielding is one of the best books that I have read in awhile. It was suspenseful and kept me guessing until the very last couple of pages! This is the first book that I have read by Joy Fielding but I will be looking for more from this author.

This book takes place in South Florida where the title character, Terry, rents a cottage to a young girl who may not be what she seems. The renter, Allison, wants to become Terry's new best friend but Terry's not so sure of letting Allison into her life.

The title is appropriate as every character in the book is full of whispers and lies. It's interesting to figure out the real truth and follow all of the twists and turns of the story.
