Who Cares If They Are In Fashion?

Platform shoes are funky, fun, and comfortable.I don't even know if they are in fashion at the moment, but that does not prevent me from wearing them.

When I say they are comfortable, I don't mean the shoes that are platforms on the ball of the foot and have a stiletto heel.I have had several pairs of those, and they are just as uncomfortable as regular high heels.

I have a preference for platforms which are light weight and not too expensive. Fortunately, if you shop carefully you can usually find good bargains.

My favorite platform shoes have a 4 to 6 inch heel, and not much more than a 2 inch drop from heel to toe. These are, like the name implies, like walking on platforms.You should be able to find platforms which are very comfortable for standing and walking.

Platforms come in many styles and colors.Some never go out of style because they are so outrageous they were never in style.

Platform shoes make you feel young, fun, and attractive.Sometimes they attract attention, which can be good or bad.Of course, they are a boon to the vertically challenged.

Some of my Southeast Asian friends call platforms 'Ah Lian' shoes.But that is sort of a complicated story.

Some cautions:

- Make sure you are comfortable walking in your platforms before you venture far from home.

- Take them off when you drive.

- Take spare shoes if traveling, in case you have a wardrobe malfunction.
