Who Needs A Trim? By Geralyn Hydock on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

Gardening is a passion of mine bit I hate the weeds and grass the creeps into my beds. They tend to appear out of nowhere over time. This tool allows me to get rid of growth that occurs along my rock gardens, lawn edges, aroud my bushes, etc.

The Black & Decker trimmer automatically advances the cutting string for you without any bumping. You are provided with a consistent length of line for excellent performance each time you use it. Best of all, the unit is battery powered and can mow up to a 1/2 acre site on a single charge.

Eighteen volt batteries charge up this trimmer which is very easy to start up and it needs no gas, oil, or tune ups. There is a unique groom and edge head which is able to rotate 180 degrees to convert the unit from a trimmer into an edger which one is able to use on sidewalks and driveways. Safetywise, there is an on-off switch that prevents accidental start ups.

I love this trimmer/edger as it is one of easiest, lightest ones I have ever used. This is perfect for me as I can do the work on my own and not have to wait for someone else to do it. It is not a monstrous machine which one has to worry about lugging around if you have a bad back, etc. Thanks to this product, my garden and yar are kept neat looking. I use both the trimmer and edge function and it works like a charm. It is well worth the expense. Why fool around with cheaper more shoddy units when you can have the cadillac of machines at your hands?

It sounds like a good trimmer. I have a gas one and it has been OK so far.

I have a gas trimmer, maybe I should look into one of these. I hate the loud noise of the gas trimmer and the weight of it.

I like that it doesn't use any use and doesn't need tune up and it is light weight. Most of the time I don't use our weed eater but every now and then I use it. It would be nice to have a really light weight one to handle.

Wow, it automatically keeps the string at the same usable length. That's nice. I'll have to remember this model.

I just bought a Black and Decker trimmer last week, but I went for the one that weighs less than 4 pounds. It's electrical, though, so I have to be attached to a cord. I haven't used it yet, but if it's anything like yours it sounds like I'll be pleased with it!

I like that you don't have to bump it to feed the cord.
