Who Wouldn't Want A Robotic Vacuum? By joojifish on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
The Roomba is a vacuum that operates on its own at the touch of a button. He'll wander around your house, figuring out the dimensions of the room and sucking up debris as he goes. (You can't help but think of Roomba as a pet or your little vacuuming buddy, by the way.) The movement algorithms programmed into the Roomba are surprisingly effective, resulting in decent coverage of the vacuumed room. The sucking power is also adequate for light cleaning. However, you'll probably still want to keep your upright machine for bigger messes and to vacuum corners, which the round Roomba can't handle. Still, for carefree maintenance-type vacuuming, the Roomba is nice to have. He's also fun to watch and will give you bragging rights as a technophile.
