Why I Love Reading Memoirs Of A Geisha By Melodie Love on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Hey,

I am going to be honest with this review. I don't read books besides the required reading that we all have to do at schools. It is very difficult to get me to read because I don't get into the reading mood. After flipping pages for a while, I just get bored and skip to the ending. But.. Memoirs Of A Geisha by Arthur Golden is a totally different story! The story is entertaining from the start to the finish, especially when the setting is based on Japan 1900s. Also, you can learn so much more about ancient Japanese culture, where the ladies wear pretty kimono, the kind of lifestyles they have living with competing co-workers, the crazy traditions/ rituals they have to do every now and then. Trust me, you can't get bored with this book! :)

I thought the design of the book was great, although it did not win my 5 because it was not like a "Wow" moment for me. The book I bought have a picture of a Japanese girl with pretty face. Her eye color are bluish instead of black, which is the reason that I touch the book in the first place. It was an unique cover.

For anyone who still doesn't like/ want to read, check out the movie or DVD! You will definitely not regret it! =)
