The Wii Remote, or "Wiimote," as it is affectionately known, is the official controller for the Nintendo Wii.The Wii Remote has a unique shape, looking more like a TV remote than a traditional controller.

The Wii Remote is completely wireless, and ultilizes a unique system of motion sensors.The remote feels great when being swung around in games like Wii Sports, and translates very well to real-life actions.The controller can also be tilted on its side andused like a traditional controller or a combination of the two.It is the only controller design to offer such versatility, which is expanded by the various expansion controllers that can be joined to it.

The biggest downside to this controller is the relatively low battery life.I find that I have to change batteries fairly often, as the Bluetooth technology tends to draw a lot of power.However, this can be remedied with third-party rechargeable batteries.The Remote is a very innovative controller, and the only choice for the Wii at the moment.
