Wildblue Broadband Satellite Internet By Nicholas Harrell on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Having lived out in the country, I didn't have many options for internet. Either dial up, or satellite internet. I finally gave in cause I needed broadband in some fashion. So I went with Wildblue. Worst discision ever. Their service is pretty horrible. The people that installed the stuff were not knowledgeable at all. They didn't go over any paperwork when they did it, and could have damaged the roof.
The actual service they provide is not covered either. There is a download limit, and you are not told of this when you sign up. Its 17 gigs a month, and 5 gigs uploaded. I went through the 17 quick, and when I noticed my speed was cut, I called the local people. They said they had no idea what it was. They even came out and set up a router for me, saying it was a problem with mine, and of course charging me for the router. The speed never got better. Soon I got an email from wildblue saying I had one of three bandwidth strikes against me. I asked them why, and they said I was way over my limit. Then I found out about the limit.
The charges a month for it is ridiculious too. 80 bucks a month for substandard speed and a limit? More like ripping off people that have no other choice. If you need internet this bad, you might as well move and save money buying a new house. Bad choice.

Sounds like you were snowed in! lol! V:)
We used them once before and were not pleased, ever time the wind blows in this area people lose service :(
Wow! What a crock! Thanks for the warning!
You can really get hurt on techno- living in the country. Thanks for a heads up!
I had no idea you could get internet through a satellite dish. Does your internet go out when bad weather strikes like TV does? Sorry to hear you don't have much service choices living in the country and the one you do have is quite crappy. Here's hoping you can get out of the country soon! :o)
Yep...we had this service and you are right! we were not very happey with them and taking to a real person, in the right dept was a real hard to accomplish task!
