I had a horrible time dealing with Wilmington Finance when my mortgage was sold to them. They forgot to pay my taxes out of the escrow account. They paid the insurance so late that it was cancelled. Then they tried to charge me late fees and reinstatement fees to pay for their mistakes. The customer service department was rude and careless and refused to take any blame. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I got transferred between the same 2 representatives 6 times before they eventually disconnected me. They were also extrememly hard to understand, they spoke with deep accents and insulted me when I didn't understand them. When I finally spoke to a manager they tried to blame me as well. I was forced to hire a lawyer in order to get them to do anything about their own negligence. If you have any choice at all, do NOT ever deal with Wilmington Finance.

We just hate it when our mortgage is transferred. People tend to drop the ball when it happens. I hope your lawyer prayed for compensation for his fees so you did not have to pay them. Perhaps you could get another company. Wamu and Wells Fargo are pretty decent. Good luck!

wow, sounds like a situation I had with a property management my lease had been sold to. Sometimes I wonder if they get their customers any other way...
I have never heard of this company before and I am glad. I can't believe they didn't pay your taxes or home insurance. I would been just as appaled as you. I am glad you are taking action against them. Thank you for the warning!
This is all pretty terrible. And it's hard to recover from such things because no one ever quite believes that you aren't somehow responsible. Hope it all comes out well.
