Wilton Bakeware for my Latvian Cake

I'm not an everyday baker but for the cakes I do make I always rely on and purchase the Wilton cake pans.

Recently I had the opportunity to have a one on one demonstration to make a Latvian cake.I can't buy them from a bakery but have to rely on my Latvian husband to find someone who will make one for a special occasion.I really wanted to learn how to make these so he arranged for me, my brother (the real baker of the family) and my sister-in-law to watch and learn how to make this cake.

The first thing we were told was to buy the Wilton 10" cake pan, 4 of them.Well, I already liked this brand so I knew I had one of these at home.Now I only had to buy three more!!

Wilton makes great quality baking pans.This Wilton cake pan is 10" round and 2" deep for higher cakes.I have always liked the lightweight and durability of this cake pan.They have consistent heat distribution for uniform baking and no uneven sides,Whatever size Wilton cake pan I have used has always cooked up evenly and with no browned edges.

I have never had a problem with anything sticking to the pans thanks to the quality of the aluminum and smooth finish they use.They wash up beautifully in the dishwasher until the next time I need them.I have not had a problem with rust at any time.

I've included a couple of pictures of the finished product.The first one with the raspberries on top was the class project.This cake is so delicious with a cookie crust bottom layer and sinful ingredients.The cake with the mandarin oranges on top is one my brother made when he got home.We had 2 beautiful cakes for my daughter's going away party the next day.
