Wilton Cake Release By dsnygrl on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

I am an avid baker and one of my favorite products to use is Wilton cake release. It comes in a 8 oz bottle and is available with the baking products in craft stores. Unlike Pam and products similar to it, this is a liquid that gets spread onto your cake pans before baking. It eliminates the need to butter and flour your pans in is much more effective for getting in corners of square pans and for following the curves and indentations of shaped pans. I have not had one cake stick to the pans since I started using it several years ago and I do many of the shapped pan designs. Unlike the butter and flour method, this goes on in a liquid form and does not leave patches of flour behind on your cake. It also leaves the surface of the cake crumb free so that you icing goes on much smoother and does not leave the chunks of crumbs behind in the frosting which ruin the look of a beautiful cake.

I wonder if it would prevent my cranberry gelatin from sticking in the mold?? I made a big fish of cranberry thinking it would look cool on the table, and it ended up a mess. Well it tastes good anyway.

There are "baking products in craft stores"??? Do they also carry grill items and edged kitchen tools;-) Now you have me interested in checking out the local hobby lobby. Good write.
