Windows Vista
By lbtlover onI am a computer repair technition and I have been repairing computers for many years.Never in all this time have I ever seen such a poor piece of software come directly from Microsoft.Windows vista uses over 16 times the ram that windows xp uses.Over the years, each new operating system has about doubled in system requirements, however with windows vista crippling computers that have not been bought preprogrammed with windows vista, it's popularity is severely low.Windows vienna is scheduled to come out early 2009.Microsoft is trying to sweep vista under the rug as soon as possible.Windows vista offers very little features over windows xp.It is mainly useless eye candy.Microsoft was simply greedy and desired more money from a new operating system without adding useful features or improving user experience in the slightest. The one exception is gamers. They are able to benifit from the DirectX10 technology, however a version of DirectX10 is being developed for windows xp.Overall, windows vista uses tons more resources than windows xp and offers very little in return aside from more appealing menus. My advise is to avoid it like the pleague.
