Winrar The Winzip Evolution By Cappucino on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I am pretty sure that not many of us here use Winrar to compress and extract their files from their computer. To tell you in short, Winrar is another program that replaces the existence of Winzip in this expanding computer software industry. Honestly, although both of these softwares did not have so much difference in their abilities performance, but then I do prefer Winrar as a software to be used in my laptop or computer as it can read bot .rar or zip files.

In addition, apart from being able to compress and saves up a few spaces in your hard drive, I can also creates new archives made up from various formats such as Zip, Rar, Ace, Cab, Arj, Lzh, Tar, Gz, Bz2, Uue, Jar, Iso, 7z and Z, this means that this program is simply reliable and useful. Moreover, to get Winrar installed into your computer, you only have to download it at http://www.rarsoft.com/ with the size of only above 1mb.

However I also found out a major weakness on this software that makes me tend to be more careful when downloading files that need Winrar to decompress them. There has been rumors that most antivirus cannot detect virus which were sometimes stored in the downloaded Winrar archives. To be on the safe side, I advised users that you need to download files that use Winrar from the sites that can be trusted only.
