Scotts Turf Builder WinterGuard is applied in the fall. This is a granular product and can be applied either by hand or with a spreader. The fertilizer is 32-0-10 andcan be spread on either wet or dry lawns. Wait for a calm day to apply. A 14 pound bag covers 5,000 sq. ft. and a 42 pound bag covers 15,000 sq. ft.

Be prepared to have to cut the grass regularly with this product. If I do not cut the grass in the Spring every week, I will have to put the grass catcher on the mower. I do not want a thicker, greener lawn that looks like I have cut hay when I mow the grass.
