I decided to try a Wood Wick candle the other month at Hallmark. They looked interesting, everything I had burned before had a normal wick, not a slice of wood. The candle is 22ozs and burns very evenly across, often I have them form a sink hole in the middle but not this one. I have been burning it for 3 weeks now (every night) and it is about 1/3 gone. The scent is not too over powering, I burn it in the kitchen and can smell it about 5ft away. I just love the homey feeling of a burning candle in the kitchen. The wick stick burns evenly across and makes a pleasant crackling sound as it goes. There is no smoke which is something else I worried about with the wood wick. The heavy wood lid does trap the smoke after you blow it out. But I watch it as I am not so sure how safe I feel with a piece of wood over a previously burning wick. So I blow it out about 15 minutes before we go to bed for the night.
