Kid Connection's Wooden Touch and Feel Book is great for toddlers. The age suggestion is for three years and up, however, I do not feel that should be the case. My two year old loves this book. There is no way of her getting hurt by it. It is small and easy to flip through. It has different animals. These are sheep, cat, chicken, duck, dog, horse, pig, and cow. There is a patch in the middle of each animal that she can feel to see what each animal feels like when you touch that animal. The book is shaped like a barn. Each wooden page has two holes. All of these pages are held together with a tuff cord. This is one great way to teach her what each animal looks like. I also make the sounds of each animal as we look at this book. I show it to my younger daughter and point things out.

I usually treat the age guideline as the age appropriate for "unsupervised" play (like, when I do dishes!), but when they're old enough to enjoy it (meaning, they look at it) then you're good to have some one-on-one time with them =)
