World Of Warcraft Authenticator By Phoebe on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Blizzard recently announced a security authenticator for it's World of Warcraft game. Being an avid fan, I ordered one right away.

The authenticator is a small keyfob, about 2 inches long. Set up is very easy - simply sign in to your World of Warcraft Account and click the "Add Authenticator" link. You will be prompted to enter the serial number from the back of the authenticator. Click "OK" and you are done!

After adding the authenticator to your account, you will log into WoW as normal with your username and password. It will then prompt you for your token key from the authenticator. hit the button on the authenticator to generate a random number and enter the number into WoW. You're online and in game with much more security than before.

While I never had an issue with my account being compromised, it was always a concern that one day it could happen. The authenticator has added a new level of confidence in Blizzard security for their customer's accounts.

I would strongly push for anyone with a World of Warcraft account to purchase one of these keys for account security and peace of mind!
