OK, I only got this because I found it for my friend and thought I'd try it out. Now that was a bad decision. Avast was able to scan my computer and make sure some of the files were infected, that much it did, but it didn't provide the security most computers need. Such a shame, really. I had almost 4 years of protection coming to me.

The program updates itself and scans the whole computer, but it doesn't really catch everything. And that's all it does. Avast doesn't tell you if you've/you are downloaded/downloading dangerous programs and it doesn't tell you what sites are harmful to your computer. Basically it doesn't really lift a finger to help you until after the problem is on your computer, and even then, some viruses slip through the cracks, which means your computer isn't completely safe

This does the work you think is involved of virus protection, but it's not as useful as other programs. It doesn't have a wide range of protection or have much effectiveness. I had to download a different program when things got out of control, so don't go for this program. Pick up something that may help you more.
