Would Do It Again By JennEm on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

We needed a lot of money at one time for something of an emergency. Luckily our house is worth a lot more than we purchased it for, even with the bad economy. We decided to take out a Home Equity loan. It worked out well.

We were able to apply for the loan online, which was nice. Then a representative from Wells Fargo came to our house to sign the papers. We got a pretty good interest rate, and we are pretty much happy with this.

The one thing we didn't like about this experience was that our Wells Fargo Customer something -or-other (he had a specific title but I don't remember it) was not very helpful. This was not the woman who came to our house. She was great and had lots of information that the man on the phone did not have. He must have just been not very good at his job. He didn't call us back promptly, and he never seemed to have the answers to our questions. We were not impressed with him at all.

Other than that, this was a good thing to do. We can take out small amounts at the time we need them by just writing a check to ourselves. It's pretty easy. Our payment is taken directly from our checking account.

My mother also obtained a Wells Fargo line of credit and had a similar experience. After reading this, I would not hesitate to apply for a home equity loan with them.
