Wusthof 6 Cook's Knife By IamJosh on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This is the Wusthof 6" Cook's Knife. I received this knife as a gift from my Aunt right before I started culinary school. It is a great knife. Wusthof is a company that makes knives in Solingen Germany. They do an excellent job. There are, of course, more expensive knives and even better knives on the market, but this is a real nice knife for the money. The knife is a singe piece, forged, high carbon steel construction. The balance in my hand is excellent. It is fairly easy to sharpen. It states that it is dishwasher safe, but personally, I never put it in the dishwasher. I just quickly wash it by hand. I think it stays nicer that way. If you want a very good, median priced knife, I can recommend this knife highly. Wusthof makes a variety of sizes.
