Wwe Smackdown Vs Raw 2008 By Lindy Smith By Lindy Smith on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This game is good for wrestling fans or even casual fans who just want the experience of beating their opponent senseless. The graphics are awesome down to every detail. All of the wrestlers' entrance theme and pyros are shown directly from the show. The commentators are from the shows and all the wrestlers do their own voice work. The biggest knock I have is in the create a wrestler. In an effort to more evenly distribute movesets, you are given a choice of different stylesa at the beginning of your creation process and then you select moves from those sets. I understand that they want to keep any one wrestler from having a devastating list of moves, but it severely limits what you can do as most of the styles only have one or two moves that you'd really want. I also don't like having to unlock wrestlers. There's nothing more frustrating than not having the full complement of wrestlers at your disposal right out of the box. For some, you have to complete challenges and for others, you just need to earn enough money in the season mode. It tries to force you to play all modes, but you can simulate a season to get the necessary cash, so it's just an inconvenience. The game overall is very good and definitely worth at least a rental for novices and hardcore wrestling fans alike.
