Yakima Rooftop Bike Rack system

Traveling with your bike when you have a car is difficult unless you have a rack on which to attach it.Roof racks are a good option because trunk-mounted racks make it difficult to access the trunk.

A friend and I have used his Yakima bike mounting system to hook our bikes to on the way to compete in triathlons.The bike mounting system is purchased separately, but is attached to a Yakima roof rack.I was told the rack was relatively easy to install.You can lock your bikes up, and they are very sturdy while seated within the rack.

The only problem with the roof rack mounted bike rack is that the bike is a little hard to put on and take off.But this is the nature of having the bike on top of the car, rather than the quality of the rack.

When using a roof rack system it is important to remember to take your bike off your roof before driving into your garage.Really important.
