Yamaha FS-340
By Jonny Randall onThis is a decent 3/4 size acoustic guitar. The smaller size of this guitar is great. It is easier for younger kids to play as their first guitar, as well as it is easier to transport and for travelling jam sessions or anything like that. I'm not sure if mine is just a fluke, or if they are all like this, but mine actually sounds really good for a cheap acoustic guitar. With new strings on it, the sound really surprises people.
It comes with pretty high action. I found it nessasary to file down the nut and the bridge to lower the action a bit. The only other thing that has been wrong with it is some of the tuning keys' screws have been pulled loose from the headstock. Nothing really can be done because drilling new holes isnt an option since the tuning keys have to stay in the same place. But once there is string tension on them they are fine.
Overall a great beginner guitar as well as a backup/side guitar for any guitarist.
