Yamaha Yas 82 Z Saxophone Great Buy By mpm5000 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

First off, i have been playing the saxophone for the past 8 years, and I have played on my fair share of stinkers. The high ratings i've given this sax across the board may seem startling. Despite this, I must say, they are absolutley true. I tried many saxes on the same level as the custom Z prior to purchasing it from a local music store, including many more expensive Selmers. After trying all of them with the same setup (Vandoren Blue Box 3's on a Selmer C* with a Rovner dark ligature) I have no doubt that the the sound quality produced from this sax was far superior to that of the others. Over a year after purchasing it, I have yet to have a complaint. I was astonished to hear how responsive and beautiful its tone remained with my jazz setup. Whether I am playing classical sonatas or rolling along on a Charlie Parker solo, the sound of the Custom Z does not falter. I reccomend this sax to anyone looking to upgrade their horn or add another to their collection.
