This book was recommended to me by a friend. This book is one of the most moving books I have ever read. "You Are Not Alone" is written by Lynne B. Hughes, the founder and director of Comfort Zone Camp, a camp for children who have had a parent pass away. The author of this book lost both of her parents at a very young age and has felt the loss and pain of those events. This book has many chapters, including "Every Loss Is Unique", "Grief Stinks", "Remembering Our Loved Ones", and "Living With Loss". This book is very inspiring and includes true stories from teens who have lost a parent. Each of the 14 chapters has little testimonies from various children who have suffered the loss of a parent. "You Are Not Alone" moved me to tears throughout the whole thing. I realized how lucky I am to have both of my parents in my life. The children who have lost a parent or both parents appear to be so brave. Some of them tell their stories, some of them only give little blurbs that are pertinent to each chapter. I was truly inspired and moved by this book. I highly recommend this very touching book.
