You Get What You Pay For By cukal6 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
My husband and I were looking for an inexpensive DVD player to put in our children's playroom. They had already broken two and we didn't want to put a lot of money into another one. WE saw this one advertised for the day after Thanksgiving. 9.99 after rebate, perfect! Well, you know the old saying, you get what you pay for.
First, the good things about the player. It's tiny. It will fit anywhere. It's also a very simple remote that my 3 year old can use!
However, it only plays movies about half the time. Sometimes it won't recognize there's a movie in the player. Other times it will play about 10 minutes of the movie and stop. The other half of the movies we try it plays just fine.
Definitely not a DVD player I would recommend! Spend the extra money and get something better. At least we're only out $10
Coby DVD-224 Purchased at: Sears Price: 9.99 after rebate

As you said at least you are only out ten dollars! For ten buck, only playing DVD's half the time, it's still not bad!
Would have been a great deal if it actually worked. Like they say, live and learn.
Sounds like it might not have even been worth $10. LOL
Guess you can't expect much for $10, especially an electronic item. At least you didn't waste any more then $10 of your money
Awww... that is such a shame! I am so sorry that the great deal did not work out for you! Another brand I have heard people have a lot of trouble with is Cyber, which was one that was sold really cheap in the black Friday ADs around here.
Thanks for the heads up. Would have been a great deal if it worked. Agree especially with electronics, you get what you pay for.
Guess they wanted to dump those puppies, eh?
