You Need To Go Buy Go Dog Go! By jb_shops on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
If you're going to read the same book over & over & over again, it should be a great one like GO DOG GO! by P.D. Eastman. I think a young kid's book needs to have three elements: fun to read, educational, and good illustrations. This book hits it out of the park on all three.
The story is written with a cadence that is both rhythmic and catchy. The reader is shown a mix of colors, sizes, prepositions, and activities (running, driving, etc.). The 75 word vocabulary is a good foundation for the beginner reader. The illustrations support the story -- sometimes missed in other kid's books.
Warning: this book and its catchy "lyrics" will stick in your head like a 1950's pop song!
I loved this book as a kid, and now my kid's love it!

I remeber this book from many, many, MANY, (OK... I'm old!), years ago! Thanks for the memories!
Sounds cute even if it does give you ear worms :P
Go, dog, go, it's not too far! This is one of our nighttime favorites - we all yell the part, "Stop, dog, stop! The light is red." I would also have to highly recommend this book :)
This sounds like a great book - thanks for sharing.
I never heard of this book until now, sounds like a good one.
LOL. Thanks for the warning. I am bad to get catchy things stuck in my head. I probably need to stay clear of this one =-) As it is, I keep singing the backyardigans songs all day long!
