I bought this for my DS because I love the Sims for the PC.Unfortunately, it's nothing like the other Sims games. It's not a bad game, but it's not a traditional simulation game. You do get to pick your character, their clothes, and their hair. The story is you have moved to an island that needs your help to bring tourism back. You play mini-games and do tasks to accomplish this. The mini-games are fun, like making a lei, playing racquetball, and paragliding. You also interact with other characters like the baker and forest ranger to make your goal.Once you reach the next level, you unlock new features.I am stuck on a level and am now getting bored with the game.A good thing about this game is it is great for all ages.It does require reading, but the games can be played by any age.I do think this is a good game, but again, if you are buying it because you like the original Sims you will be disappointed.

absolutely correct, the sims rocks for the PC, with highly customizable fields, but for portable entertainment console, it disappoints a lot
