When you think about South Padre Island your first thought might be that it is the destination for teenagers on Spring Break. While this might be true during spring break, there is a lot of fun to be had for families during the rest of the year. My family visited this hotel in the month of July. My daughter was 4 and my son was 9 at the time. They loved it!! My daughter will not stop talking about our beach hotel and when are we going back. The biggest advantage of this hotel is the beach access. As a guest at the resort you are given access to a private section of beach that is maintained perfectly by the hotel staff. All you have to do to get there is walk past the swimming pool and down the boardwalk. On the beach you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas from the hotel that are already set up and ready to go. If you get tired of the salt water all you have to do is walk back up and rinse off in the outdoor sprayer before jumping into the pool or hot tub. There is even a kiddie pool with a little frog slide and a pool swim-up wet bar for the adults. The only drawback to this hotel is the price which is a little high. However since all of your entertainment is right there I feel that it is worth it.
