Zicam products
By Rae777 onI hate having colds so I thought I would try one of these medicines that supposedly shorten the length of a persons cold. I have tried three of Zicams products that are intended to shorten the length of a cold. I tried the chewable tablets. Oh they were nasty unless you like sucking on chalk. Then you could not eat or drink for 30 minutes or more afterwards. I used it for the length of the cold which was 8 days. It did not work. Then there was the spray. Easy to use but did not work either. Then there were the swabs. Easy to use but did not work as the cold went on for 9 days. This product is expensive. I tried all three on different colds because I wanted to make sure I gave the product a fair chance. Also I thought even if the chewables don't work maybe the swabs would. Unfortunately Zicam does not work in my opinion.
Good to know. I hate wasting money :0( I'll just stick to my Vitamin C and lots of sleep!
Ew, sucking on chalk?? I think it might be worth it if it worked... Thanks for sharing your experience with these... I've been tempted to try them.
Anything to shorten the lenght and symptoms of a cold is something that I'm interested in, thanks for steering me clear of these products.
So sorry to hear you spent so much on these and they didn't work! I stick with gramma's remedy, as soon as I feel a cold coming on, I suck a few zinc lozenges. Doesn't prevent the colds, but I swear, they end faster!
I have heard both positives & negatives about this-it really is pricey & if worked for you, it would have been worth it!
My mom uses Zicam and swears by it. It must have different reactions in different people. I do agree though, it is quite pricey!
