Zoo Tycoon 2 - A romp through zoology
By Devo onI'm not going to lie; I'm not very good at computer games. I was an "Oregon Trail" kid growing up but haven't played much else until I discovered Zoo Tycoon 2. Good gosh, this game is addicting. I pretty much fail at any other type of computer or video games but I can build one hell of a zoo! I was surprised at how much I learned playing this game even though I'm already an animal geek. This game is probably marketed for children but I think it appeals to anyone who likes animals and/or building games. Seriously though, if you love zoos this game is like a drug. And just when you begin to get bored of playing this game every day for a month, you can go out and buy an expansion pack. There's one for prehistoric animals, a marine animal one, an African one, and an endangered species one. One of my only complaints is that when the animals escape from their enclosures, they don't actually eat any of the guests. I normally wouldn't condone violence in games, but what's the point of re-creating Jurassic Park if the dinosaurs don't eat anyone? This probably isn't a big issue for normal people.

I loved Oregon Trail. "You gave Timmy dysentery." Whoops...
I was going to comment "You have died of dysentery" but Rachel beat me to it! I don't have much patience for games either but a zoo game sounds fun.
BTW, I totally have the "You have died of dysentery" T-shirt. Maybe I'll review it...
Used to play Roller Coaster Tycoon when I was in junior high. I'll see if Zoo Tycoon is the same deal.
