Reviewing: Microsoft Zune
Purchased at: Online     Price: $270.00 AUD

I love my Zune 30GB, it has to be my favourite mp3 player I have used to date. When my Ipod broke (it's battery no longer held a charge, and it's screen was cracked) I decided to buy a Zune. What I really like about my Zune is the software. The Zune software is so easy to use since it automatically searches your computer and adds all your music to the library, eliminating the hassle of adding files and folders that I experienced with itunes. Zune Marketplace and especially the Zune pass or monthly subscription is fantastic. For $14.95 a month you get an all you can eat pass for all the music you could want plus you get to keep 10 songs a month even when your subscription expires. Additionally, independent of the zune pass is access to the Zune social, and innovative experience that I use for findng new music by seeing what new music my friends are listening to. The software on the Zune is great too, when Microsoft comes out with an update, like when it made it possible to sync wirelessly with your computer, instead of having to buy an entirely new player you just updated the software on your Zune. To me, this is completely different to Apple and their Ipods where it feels that as soon as you buy the newest Ipod a even newer and "better" one is released. Zunes have relatively large screens for watching movies or looking at pictures. Other features of the Zune that I really like are the wireless syncing that I mentioned earlier, which is great if you just cant find the usb connector cable, you can send a song to another zune wirelessly which is cool if you want to share your music with a friend. Zunes also have fm radio, games, a clock, and a TV out option which is great for looking at pictures or movies on a TV. What I dont like about Zune is that despite the fact that they are continuosly coming out with updates, microsoft has yet to come out with an alarm or stopwatch feature (its not necessary but still nice), the Zune is rather bulky but the second generation is much smaller, and the fantastic features of the zune marketplace is inaccessible for people outside of USA and Canada, however i fixed this by downloading an international hack off thepiratebay.org. Overall I have had my Zune for quite a while now and I much prefer the Zune to any other Mp3 player i have used.
