Shopping / Arts & Crafts / Iris 12 x 12 Scrapbook Storage Case

I love to scrapbook and I am always in search of the best products out there not only to use in my craft but to also preserve and protect my work and investment. I originally saw the Iris 12x12 scrapbook case advertised in a magazine and thought it was exactly what I was looking for. I was very excited the day I went into my local Archivers store and saw that they had them in stock.  I purchased my original ones at Archivers but I have also been able to purchase new ones at Michaels.

The case can be used to store paper or supplies of any size but it is one of a limited number of products out that can store 12x12 papers flat. It is made of a hard plastic and the lid has a snap closure. It comes in several different colors but all are made of a clear plastic so you can easily identify what is inside. It has feet that allow it to be stored either vertically or horizontally so it fits in all kinds of place other products can't. The most important feature of it is that it is acid free so there is no worry about it damaging your projects.

I bought several of them in the different colors and use some for holding extra paper and others for holding pages that are under construction or have been finished but have no book that they can currently go in. For my last album I stored almost 100 finished pages in one in the order they were to go in the book. When I finally found a book I liked, I was quickly able to transfer them from the box to the album. The other day I had an idea to go pick up a few more of them because they are also the perfect size for storing all the papers and projects my son brings home from school each week. My thought it to have one for every 2-3 years and school and then store the most important things I want to keep for him later in them. Since they stack and store easily and are acid free, this should preserve all his memories for him to share with his kids.

This is one of those products that is a must have for anyone who scraps or wants the right size box to hold memories

This Iris case is on sale this week (June 8-14, 2008) at Michaels for only $5.39. I went and picked up a new one to use to store art work and papers from my son's school year in Kindergarten.

  • Oh, oh! I really may have to look for these. Those 12 x 12 pages are awful to deal with.
