Moon sand was the Hot toy last Christmas. We went to the ends of the earth (or walmart) to get this must have toy for my kids. The build up was great, yet the results were not. The premise is good, yet the play value really isn't.
The premise is to bring the beach to your home. First of all the sand doesn't really stick together well enough to create a castle. Secondly it makes a hug mess. I'd prefer to take the kids to the beach and leave the sand there. (except whatever gathers in their bathing suits).
They give you a pound of white moon sand, plastic molding toys (castle) and 2 digging tools. Also a Velcro package to hold the send when your not playing.
I would say that the hype out weighed the actual play.

my son got this for one of his birthdays a while back. We all didn't care for it. We felt the sand didn't stick together too well.
This one toy I will stay away from for my grandson. Thanks for sharing the honest information.
I never have heard of this. I can't believe that they actually sell sand. I am sure it doesn't stick together. YOu need humidty or some liquid to make it a little more sticky. I agree with you I would prefer to take the toys to the beach.
