FDR (Franklyn D Resort) is an family oriented all-inclusive resort located in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. While this is not a 5 Star Hotel, FDR offers a nice getaway, especially with families with children. Included in the all-inclusive rate is nanny service, air conditioned suites, meal service and live entertainment. As soon as you check-in you are given a tour of the resort, the nannies introduces themselves and the fun begins. I thought that my son would have some reservations about going with the nanny, but as soon as he warmed up to her they became fast friends. The resort offers an array of activities for the kids which includes arts and crafts and a game room. The nanny service starts at 9am each morning to 4:30pm each afternoon, but if you need your nanny to stay longer they will for a small hourly fee. While the kids are away adults can enjoy the exercise classes they offer such as cycling, tennis and weight training. If you enjoy water sports FDR offers kayaking, windsurfing and a scuba, or you can just lounge by the pool.
Most meals at FDR are buffet style with a chicken and a fish entrée, but there is an Italian restaurant for adults on certain nights, and a kids buffet which includes hamburgers, pizza and pasta for the kiddies.
Nightlife at FDR includes activities for adults and kids, the kids fashion show being one of my favorites. Adults are offered nightly music and live entertainment, karaoke, and a disco. The live entertainment could use more of a variety, because if you stay a week like I usually do, you end up seeing the same performer sing over and over again.
Overall, I would recommend FDR because my son had such a wonderful time, just don't forget the sunscreen and the insect repellent.

Sounds like a great place to visit.....thanks for sharing the information about this great place.
Wow. Built in nanny service! You can't beat that! The food sounds a bit restrictive, particularly since my son can't eat fish and my husband can't eat chicken. But otherwise sounds great.
I have never heard of a resort having a nanny service! Now that is all inclusive if I've ever heard of it. :o) Glad to hear your son warmed up to the nanny. This sounds like a neat little place and I like all the different activities you listed for the adults, along with ones for the kids as well. This sounds like a great place for a family vacation if you want all inclusive.
