WOW! What a workout! The Pilgrim Monument is located in Province Town, Massachsetts. It is Over 700 feet high. It is said to be the first spot that the pilgrims stopped before Plymouth Rock. It was really fun to conquer. There is only one way to reach the top... Hiking up the rock stairs. We climbed and climbed and climbed some more. I almost gave up! It was really neat on the way up as you climb the stone walls tell the story of the pilgrims journey. There are cities and dates of settlement carved into the rocks. You will not be prepared for the amazing view once you reach the top. It's like you are winded and out of breath from the climb, and then you see the cape from the top of the monument and any air still left in you escapes in awe of the beautiful coast line. I loved it! There are so many boats coming in and out of the Province Town port. We stayed up at the top for a while just moving from scene to scene taking it all in. Once we got back to the bottom of the monument we got to enjoy the Pilgrim Monument Museum. It is located at the bottom of the monument and is full of American history. Fun fact: Richard Gere used to act in the Province Town Theater. Once you walk outside from the monument you can walk around the beautifully landscaped grounds. This is a must see spot in Province Town, MASS.
