When I was a young girl, my mom and grandma would massage my head with olive oil every few days. I used to hate it and would come up with the strangest excuses to avoid having to go through the torture of sitting still for half an hour while they massaged my head. Only now that I'm older, I've come to realize that because of my mother and grandmother's efforts, my hair is healthy. After realizing this, I decided to massage my head with olive oil at least once a week before taking a shower. I like using Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I pour the amount I need in a bowl and heat it in the microwave for a minute or less and then apply it to my scalp and if there's any leftover, I usually use it on the rest of my hair. It has helped my hair a lot! I have extremely long hair- it's long enough to almost reach my knees. A majority of people with long hair will have thin hair. Fortunately, I'm not one of those people. Thanks to my grandmother, mother and olive oil, my hair is really thick.

I have noticeably less split ends, my hair has more volume and a sleek shine to it. Another thing I should probably mention is that it helps prevent hair loss. Before I realized how beneficial olive oil is for my hair, I used to spend hundreds of dollars on hair care products to ensure my hair looked its absolute best. I would buy different products for all the different problems I would have with my hair. Now all I need is a bottle of olive oil.

A down side to having really long hair is that it tangles really easily and when that happens, there are times when I want to pick up a pair of scissors and chop it all off. However, instead of doing that, I apply a small amount of olive oil to my hair and comb through it. And just like that, my hair becomes completely tangle free! This is one of those things that you have to try at least once and see if it's something that works for you!
